Project Description
The National Student Clearinghouse (a nonprofit formed in 1993) is the trusted source for and leading provider of higher education verifications and electronic education record exchanges, handling more than 700 million verification requests and 250 million education record exchanges annually. The Clearinghouse serves as a single point of contact for the collection and timely exchange of accurate and comprehensive enrollment, degree, and certificate records on behalf of its more than 3,500 participating higher education institutions, which represent 98 percent of all students in public and private U.S. institutions.
Aivilo provides accessibility consulting, user experience, and technical project management services to the National Student Clearinghouse for a number of their services including Transcript Ordering, Student Academic Portal and Student Tracker for Colleges.
For their Transcript Ordering Service, Aivilo reviewed the service against Section 508 requirements, remediated the issues, and created a VPAT to document the applications level of compliance. Aivilo staff also were involved with managing and developing the Clearinghouse’s initiative to create a ‘touch free’ eTrascripts solution in strategic alliance with Ellucian. This product enables real-time electronic authentication, production, and transfer of transcripts between the Clearinghouse and Ellucian’s administrative systems (Banner, Colleague, and Power Campus). Read about the eTranscripts.
Aivilo provided technical project management services to NSC to migrate one of their legacy web applications to Oracle’s Application Development Framework. At the same time this application was targeted for a redesign and needed to be Section 508 compliant so Aivilo also provided user experience and accessibility expertise.
Aivilo continues to provide UX and accessibility services for NSC on various projects. Aivilo also maintains and updates their VPATs when new product releases occur.
